Medalist's new specialty pellets for horses come in two options Alfalfa pellets and Sprout pellets. Sprout pellets consist of barley sprouts, alfalfa, oat hay, and Timothy Grass. Barley sprouts are a fresh, vertically farmed feed that is processed into pellets within a day of harvest.
The sprout pellets have vet-recommended optimal protein with 50% more energy than alfalfa hay. Because barley sprout energy sources are slow-release and easily digestible, this feed lowers the risk of colic and founder. It is a better feed for your horses.
Feeding Instructions: Feed 1.5% to 2% of body weight per day for the maintenance of horses. EXAMPLE: If you have a 1000 lb horse, feed 15-20 lbs a day.
Storage: Please store in a dry area. Super Sack Totes are weather-resistant, but not completely water-proof. We recommend adding a tarp for rainstorms.
