Standlee Alfalfa Pellets – 40 lb Bag

Introducing Standlee Premium Western Forage Alfalfa Pellets

Standlee Premium Western Forage Alfalfa Pellets are made from high-quality, sun-cured alfalfa ground and formed into convenient ¼-inch pellets. They are easy to measure, store, and feed while providing the consistent nutrition of premium western forage.

Naturally high in protein and low in starch, these highly palatable pellets are an excellent forage option for growing and performance horses, pregnant or lactating mares, and horses that require a carbohydrate-conscious diet.

Feed them dry or soak them for horses that need additional hydration, eat aggressively, or have dental challenges. Each bag contains 40 pounds of premium alfalfa pellets.

Daily forage: Forage should generally be fed at a rate of 1.5%–2.5% of a horse’s body weight each day.
Transition period: Gradually replace existing hay with Standlee forage over a period of 7–14 days.
Soaking instructions: For increased hydration, aggressive eaters, or horses with dental challenges, soak one part pellets in two parts water for approximately 30 minutes or until properly softened.
Long-stem forage: Standlee recommends that pelleted forage not be the sole source of forage. Providing some long-stem forage may help reduce boredom and prevent stall vices.
Maximum feeding rates for additional species:
Cattle: 3% of body weight
Donkeys: 1.5% of body weight
Goats: 4% of body weight
Llamas: 2% of body weight
