When I first purchased this feed, I began mixing it with the feed my chickens had been eating for years, just to help with the transition to the new feed. But the chickens would just eat all of this first and leave behind all their usual feed!😂 I had to quit giving them this gallo pro until they finished up the rest of the old feed. They love this feed!! It smells good and looks much better than the pellets they used to get. My hens look beautiful and healthy, and egg production has increased. They loved the Leland Mills mash too, but the gallo pro flows through the feed dispenser I have without getting jammed up at all. The mash tended to get stuck and I’d have to shake it to get it to go down to where the chickens could get to it. My hens also don’t go through the gallo pro as quickly as the mash or the ranch store pellets. It must just fill them up and satisfy them better. I’m thrilled I’ve discovered this fantastic mill and their high quality feed!!!
