18-G works well on show pigs that are in need of more muscle shape and skeletal growth. If you have a "green" or skinnier made show pig that needs "more" everywhere in terms of muscle and grow, this is the right feed for you. It is also a good tool to use if you have an animal that will deposit fat and flesh very quickly and easily, which can happen easily with many purebreds specifically.
18-G is one of the more popular options when picking up new pigs from your breeder or pig sale. It'll help maintain the muscle shape they have and keep them growing. We recommend starting with approximately 3-4 lbs. per head per day from 75 lbs. on and then increasing from there based on growth rate and consumption. 18-G can be fed at any time in the feeding phase.
